The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare is hiring for an Outreach and Policy Program Coordinator position.

The Outreach Coordinator develops and/or connects child welfare stakeholders in Minnesota and nationwide to dynamic, relevant, accessible, research-informed practice and policy resources and trainings. These resources and trainings bridge the worlds of research, policy, and practice for students and child welfare practitioners working directly with children and families.

Specifically, the Outreach Coordinator utilizes their graduate-level content expertise, critical thinking, and research skills to identify needs (and resources to meet those needs) for the child welfare community, develop research-informed publications

The Outreach Coordinator will help shape child welfare policy by managing the CW360 publication and completing policy analysis that can be used by child welfare stakeholders. The Outreach Coordinator will engage the child welfare community around evidence-based and research-informed practices and policies using both social media and blogs and assist with planning and organizing of child welfare conferences and events

This position is 80% time (32 hours a week)

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

  •    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •    Masters Degree in Social Work
  •    Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
  •    Proven skills with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  •    Ability to work in a busy environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  •   Paid experience analyzing policy
  •    2 years of experience in the field of child welfare
  •    Experience in content and copy editing
  •    Professional experience with social media communications
