Project Description

The Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW) holds as one of its guiding values the idea that effective child welfare training, education, policy and evaluation is multidisciplinary, multicultural and collaborative in nature.

Multicultural in this sense means not only the great diversity among cultures in our society but also the differences within many cultural groups. Those who work, study, and develop policy in child welfare must understand the experiences of diverse groups in child welfare and have access to helpful information about cultural diversity and racial disparities. They need tools to help them develop cultural sensitivity and/or cultural competence.
