Every year, The National Association of Social Workers–Minnesota (NASW-MN) sponsors Social Work Day at the Capital in Minnesota. This year Social Work Day will be on Monday, April 7, 2014, with the theme of “All Minnesotans Matter,” keeping in line with last month’s Social Work Month theme of “All People Matter.” Although registration is closed, you can still join for the march at noon.

The NASW states:

Social Work Day at the Capital is an opportunity for professional social workers, social, social work students, and social work educators to join together and lobby state lawmakers about matters of social policy that affect our clients, our profession, and the citizens of Minnesota.

Breakout options include:

  • Advocacy 101
  • Affordable Care Act
  • Child Welfare
  • Homelessness in MN
  • Mental Health
  • MN AIDS Project
  • Outfront MN and School Bullying
  • Racial Disparities in MN
  • Second Chance Coalition

Social workers who attend the entire day will receive 4 CEUs and will learn about current legislation and advocacy efforts.
