Working with Becky, Mark and the Child Protection Intake Staff has truly been an amazing learning experience for me. Becky has been very flexible, open and supportive, which has allowed for many learning opportunities for me as a student learner including children’s mental health services and adoption services. She has also been generous with her knowledge and has provided me with one of the best supervision I have ever had in all of my field internships. Not to mention, a warm and welcoming staff that has also been a great addition to my field internship, whether it was the opportunity to shadow interviews, follow court hearings, attend training sessions or even attend baby showers and birthday parties. The culture and atmosphere of the unit really resembles the passion for working with children and families. I have gained not only knowledge and skills as a Child Protection Worker, but the relationships that I have developed with Becky and the wonderful staff. I am grateful for this enriching experience as I have learned that there is such a broad spectrum of work that is performed, and there is only more that I can continue to learn about and look forward to learning about.
