Last week, the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare in partnership with the Center for Early Education and Development released the winter edition of CW360° entitled: “Using a Developmental Approach in Child Welfare Practice.”
CW360° is a magazine-length, standalone publication which uses a multidisciplinary approach to examine a prominent issue in the field of child welfare. The publication is meant to provide front line workers, as well as child and family advocates, access to current research and practice methods.
This edition incorporates child welfare policy by addressing needs of the foster care system, early intervention, child protection, home visiting, and the judicial system through articles and studies by ZERO TO THREE, the Children’s Defense Fund of Minnesota, researchers from CEED, Casey Family Programs, and many more researchers and professionals representing organizations and universities from around the country.
Like our previous discussion on brain development and child welfare, this edition of CW360° synthesizes scientific research, public policy, and the needs of the child welfare community to provide a comprehensive examination of how the field is currently using or could use developmental science in their practice.
