Tomorrow at noon the Minnesota legislative session will begin. We will be providing regular updates on bills and committee hearings throughout the session, just like we did last year. In addition, we will be updating our webpage on child welfare policy to include separate pages on Policy Resources, Live Federal Bill Tracking, and Live Minnesota Bill Tracking.

New This Week – Minnesota Session

The first House Health & Human Services Finance Committee meeting that’s related to child welfare will be held on Thursday, January 26, at 12:30 PM in Room 200 of the State Office Building. The agenda for this meeting is “November Forecast Details from Department of Human Service and Minnesota Management & Budget” – we expect that there will be details on funding for child welfare services, as well as other areas that are important to the child welfare system.

At least one representative from CASCW will attend, so if you’re unable to attend, just keep an eye out for a recap of the meeting via blog post. You can also follow us on Twitter (@CASCW_MN) and like us on Facebook for regular updates.
