March is National Social Work Month! This year the theme is “All People Matter.” The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) website reports that they chose this year’s theme and logo in order to

help raise awareness about the American social work profession’s 116-year commitment to improving social conditions and quality of life opportunities for everyone. Social workers across the globe believe that all people have dignity and deserve respect.

In choosing this theme, NASW’s goal is to educate the public on how having the value of dignity and respect for all can positively impact family relationships, improve the efficacy of social support systems, and strengthen our communities.

What do you think of this year’s theme for National Social Work Month? Do you have any specific ideas for raising awareness of this theme? Leave a comment!
