This series includes two new video modules for child welfare professionals. The first module, New Support for Recovery, discusses a variety of resources for people in recovery (primarily focused on recovery from substance use disorders) including some new and emerging trends. Topics discussed include mutual aid groups, harm reduction, representations in popular culture, sober living spaces, recovery community organizations, and new views of recovery.

The second module, Medication for Recovery*, covers medications to treat opioid-use disorders for training purposes for social workers in child welfare. It reviews the science of how the brain works and then presents the different types of medications that are available. It also covers each of the FDA-approved medications to treat opioid-use disorders, including evidence related to their effectiveness. It concludes with information addressing disparities in accessing medications and specific actions social workers can take to support clients.
