In this three-part module series, participants learn about a new intervention for working with parents with disabilities: parent-centered planning. The modules will provide an overview of the current state of the research in supporting parents with disabilities, including promising practices related to parent skill training and improving social connections and social supports. Parent-centered planning is described in-depth, including a focus on its roots in person-centered planning, a step-by-step overview of this brief intervention, and a case example.

Part 1 Current State of the Research on Working with Parents with Disabilities
Participants will learn about a parent centered planning for parents with disabilities. The first module will present an overview of the current state of the research on working with parents with disabilities, describe the two main types of promising practices in working with parents with disabilities, and discuss evidence-based practice considerations.
Part 2 Parent Centered Planning – Roots in Person-Centered Planning
Participants are introduced to the concept of parent centered planning and explore its roots in person-centered planning.
Part 3 Parent Centered Planning Brief Intervention
This module introduces participants to the parent-centered planning brief intervention.
