Positive Psychology and Well-Being of Child Welfare Workers

This 3-part training series focuses on the application of positive psychology in order to improve the well-being of child welfare workers. Module 1 provides an overview of certain problems that are often found in child welfare work settings, including burnout and compassion fatigue. This module explores possible solutions, including compassion satisfaction, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral strategies. Module 2 focuses on gratitude, behavioral activation, positive activity scheduling, and a concrete strategy for putting the research evidence from these approaches to wellness to use in daily life. Module 3 explores reflective supervision, including listening, positive communication skills, and recommendations for putting all these learnings to use in order to improve the well-being of others in the work place.
